The Davis Performing Arts Programs provides opportunities in the performing arts for young people in Central Ohio. We are a proud part of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, and we are located in the Columbus Performing Arts Center.
Classes and Camps for ages 4-18
All year long our classes and day camps provide children and young people with an intensive performing arts education. Our classes are fun, engaging and taught by local professionals. The Davis Performing Arts Programs has a 20 year history of bringing Theatre, Dance and Music to the youth of Central Ohio.
Shows and productions for ages 7-18
The Davis Performing Arts Programs holds a full season of family friendly shows that runs throughout the year. Two production companies, the Children’s Drama Company and The Park Playhouse Teen Theatre provide acting opportunities exclusively for youth. Working with an Professional director these productions are presented to the General public, giving young people real world exposure to the theatre arts.
The Columbus Youth Jazz Workshop
Each Sunday afternoon our music studio comes alive
with the swinging sounds of jazz! The Columbus Youth
Jazz Workshop, a program co-sponsored by the
Recreation and Parks Department and the Jazz Arts
Group, is an all-star big band made up of students
from the central Ohio area in grades 7-10. Our group
was created in 2004 for serious young musicians who
play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass or
drums and are interested in playing jazz for the first
time. The Jazz Workshop is under the direction of
local musician and educator Mark Donavan. Please visit
our page at www.cjojazz.com/education for more
