The Film Academy for Teens

Lights! Camera! Action! Have you ever dreamed of being a star on the big screen? Do you wonder what it takes to make a movie? Come explore the art of movie-making, from acting all the way to production. Write and shoot your own short film as we discover the challenges and rewards of acting for the camera. We will work on set design, costuming, and props, and screen our films on the last day of class. Don’t miss the fun!

The Musical Theatre Creation Conservatory

Take the fun and excitement of musical theatre to a whole new creative level—yours! Work with our professional artists and composers to build an original story, complete with music and lyrics. (No writing experience necessary.) You’ll also rehearse the story’s songs, scenes, and dances, as well as create the costumes and scenery for our final sharing. Don’t miss this rare opportunity!

Musical Theatre Intensives at the Riffe Center

Bound for Broadway Baby!

Be a "triple threat!" Hone your musical theatre skills as we put together a review of some of your favorite musicals. The intensive will include acting and dance classes, as well as vocal coaching and special workshops with professional musical theatre actors. This two-week course will include a class field trip to see the Actors' Theatre production of Treasure Island on Friday, June 25, and conclude with a "sharing" of our work for family and friends on Friday, July 2.

Audition Showcase

In this two-week, intensive program, students will gain the skills needed to be a well-rounded musical theatre "auditionee" and performer. Mornings will consist of specialized acting movement and dance classes taught by local professionals. In the afternoons, students will have audition workshops and individual monologue and vocal coaching. By the end of the intensive, each student will have audition material, which will be evaluated by a panel of theatre professionals. Students will also attend the Broadway Across America/CAPA co-presentation of WICKED on Wednesday, July 28, 8 pm, at the Ohio Theatre.
